Musica is an organisation for music and sound art for and with young audiences. It combines a fascination for cultural traditions with a passion for experimentation and innovation.

We are building a tradition of innovative music projects with formats such as MusiMatrix, SoundMine and Babelut Parcours. From the open-air museum Het Klankenbos in Pelt, Musica launches projects around music and sound art that inspire and connect. Musica feels at its best when it can inspire young artists, take children on adventures into the world of music or connect diverse groups through participatory projects.

Musica travels with performances, projects and workshops in Belgium and abroad. We transform concert halls into musical labyrinths, present performances and sound art in cultural centres and offer workshops in community centres and libraries.

Sound and music find their way into public spaces where Musica seeks to connect art and community. Through national and international collaborations, we bring adventurous in situ installations to you. Musica also welcomes you to its unique open-air museum in Pelt: Het Klankenbos. Here you will find an international collection of sound installations that cannot be experienced anywhere else in Europe.

Musica enjoys bringing together a diverse range of activities in one place where young and old alike can enjoy a complete programme. We provide an artistic focus and an adventurous spirit.

Musica offers space for the development and creation of innovative projects with an extensive range of residencies. It welcomes young sound artists to Het Klankenbos and uses its expertise to support musicians in creations for young audiences.

Participation and education are in the organisation’s DNA. We strive for projects that strengthen and connect communities and believe in the power of co-creation between artists and children. For example, we offer workshops that focus on active participation. Musica is also known for its training programmes for professionals and teachers.
