In the annual Summerschool organized by Musica Impulse Centre, AMUZ and Cappella Pratensis, a group of singers study ancient scores. In 2023, Laus Polyphoniae (Festival of Flanders Antwerp) will focus on the festival theme ‘Antwerp Townscape / Soundscape’. For this year’s edition, a selection is made of motets, mass parts and other compositions that resounded in Antwerp churches in the 16th century or were printed on the presses of Plantin or Phalesius. The result of the intense week of singing from original sources can be heard during the presentation at AMUZ on Sunday 27 August 2023 at 11:00 am.
Advanced amateurs and young professional musicians can again count on coaching by international experts: Stratton Bull, Andrew Hallock and Pieter De Moor of Cappella Pratensis, who will lead the vocal sessions.
The masterclass is intended for professional, pre-professional singers and advanced amateurs.
The price includes a selection of concert tickets for the Laus Polyphoniae Festival. Accommodation is not included, but there are options available in every price category (there is an excellent youth hostel nearby and a wide variety of hotels).
