Klankenbos residency - Anne van de Star

Thu 27 May 2021 - 09:00 to Sat 29 May 2021 - 14:00
Klankenbos, Toekomstlaan 5, 3910 Pelt

During her residency, artist Anne van de Star will rework her installation Bling rrring (2020) to become a work in dialogue with the surroundings of Klankenbos. Bling rrring (2020) is a meditative work in which a sound dialogue arises between two rotating, rusty steel rings when they accidentally touch each other. Their resonance fills the surrounding space with celestial tones and clusters, unmatched by what we usually describe as "bling bling." The installation was created during a residency in Atelier Lucas Pellens, as part of OORtreders Festival.

Anne van de Star (NL/BE, 1988) is an electronic musician, composer-performer and visual artist. Severalof her electronic experiments are related to a hypnotic experience in which time and space are fluid and it becomes impossible to determine where exactly it is that you are. She questions the coordinates of body and mind. Van de Star is part of Collectief Publiek Geluid, a group of artists, young makers and musicians who are actively involved with sound and the public space. She is also a founding band member of MONOMONO, an electronic music duo that creates dark post-electro in an era of female empowerment.

In collaboration with Atelier Lucas Pellens and C-TAKT.
