Antwerp Symphony Orchestra plays work by young SoundMine composers

Thu 04 Feb 2021 - 20:00 to 22:00

12 (inter)national participants of international composition course SoundMine were selected to rehearse and perform their own work with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Wim Henderickx.

This summer the 21st edition of international composition workshop SoundMine took place. Under the guidance of top teachers Wim Henderickx, Diederik Glorieux and Jorrit Tamminga, 35 young composers spent a week working on composing for orchestra and/or electronic music. This took place in person at Landcommanderij Alden Biesen or via digital platforms. In this way, foreign students who were unable to move to Belgium because of the coronation measures could still be supported online. Thanks to the collaboration with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, 12 of them now have the opportunity to rehearse their work and see it on stage with a large symphonic orchestra.

Young composers Lara Denies, Siebrand Verhulst, Constance van Gog, Marlies Hollevoet, Obe Vermeulen, Henri Colombat, Daniil Getman, Eda Er, Evans Kocja, Noah Senden, Yngwie Janseghers and Siebe Thijs were selected for this unique follow-up project! Congratulations!

Appointment on 4 February 2021!
