Sounds Now is led by a consortium of music festivals and production houses, focusing on the dissemination of contemporary music and culture. Musica takes on the role of project leader within this project. The project is in fact the result of many years of collective discussion and reflection on our role as curators and deals with the socio-political responsibilities that this role entails.

Promoting inclusion through curating - Sounds Now focuses on new and emerging curators as a way to promote inclusion & diversity in contemporary classical music, experimental music and sound art.

Over 4 years, the project will investigate the possibilities, conditions and perspectives that determine how music reaches an audience today; and will explore the social and artistic impact of the curator’s role through coaching and co-working labs with international music curators, the testing of innovative curating formats, the creation of new works and networks, organising a formal learning course, research and symposia.
