New: postgraduate course Sound Cradle

After nine months of dreaming, brainstorming and hard work, a new project called 'Sound Cradle', growing into music with the early years, has been born at Musica.
This two-year postgraduate course was developed in cooperation with the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp.

"The strange human urge to shape and share fantasies of action and experience is with us from birth. It is innate, not acquired, but must grow in company." - Colwyn Trevarthen (2012)

The demand for sensitive, artistic input for young children is great. Day-care centres, after-school centres and all kinds of other initiatives, but also young parents are eagerly looking for a qualitative artistic approach to young children. More and more performing artists are discovering the special musical sensitivity of babies, toddlers and preschoolers and are developing an offer for them.

Sound Cradle responds to this individual need and growing social demand. This postgraduate course prepares students for rich musical interaction with children aged 0 to 5 in various contexts.

Sound Cradle brings a coherent story. The programme translates current multidisciplinary insights into an artistic approach to early musical development.

Sound Cradle broadens its students' view of musicality and immerses them in the fascinating world of sound interaction with the very youngest.
