CURATING LAB with Christine Eyene

Together with artists including Elsa M’bala (Berlin), and curator Christine Eyene (London), create an exhibition or performance in Pelt centered on nature, border, migration and the memories linked to culturally diverse sonic and musical heritage.

For one week, you will collaborate with a group of participants, Christine Eyene and two sounds artists, including Elsa M’bala, in Theater Hall Dommelhof in Pelt on the creation of a new art piece taking the border municipality as a starting point to explore migration narratives, personal and collective histories, and sonic memories. Together with the artists you develop ideas about auditory memory as an anchor to history and place, and as a form of identity formation. You will also investigate the notion of artificial borders, and nature as a reconciliatory collective space.
In addition to being involved in the creative activity, the Curating Lab will also give you the opportunity to learn more about new media arts, gain useful skills in event organising and communication, including social media, and develop new ways of taking an active role in your local cultural environment.
