Nocturne is an annual mini-festival at dusk in the Klankenbos in Pelt. The common thread for this year is music, sound and rituals. How do we connect with each other and the world around us from magical, social and cultural sound and performance practices? The program consists of an in-depth listening tour of the world in the midst of nature, inspired by the environment of the forest.
Summer is upon us, which means: a new Nocturne in The Sound Forest! This year our meditative evening session can continue as usual, live on site and without restrictions.
On Saturday 4 June, starting at 6h30 pm, you can come and enjoy the following artists:
Erik Vallbo: the Swedish experimental designer will give a preview of his new sound installation ‘Time Flies’. This is currently being developed for Musica, and will get a permanent place in the sandbox of our neighbors at Scoutsrally later this year (read more about the installation ‘Time Flies’ here).
Siet Raeymaekers & Roxane Métayer: ‘Gebogen Ogen’ is a collaboration between dancer Raeymaekers and violinist Métayer. Together they perform a shadow play with insects, which can be as much a mating dance as a deadly fight.
Louise Landes Levi, Timo van Luijk & Bart De Paepe: The legendary poet-performer Louise Landes Levi enters into an alliance with two Belgian veterans of the experimental scene. Together they meticulously weave together various threads into a surreal, organic and poetic language.
Bloedneus & de Snuitkever: Nom de plume by Brussels-based sound artist Lukas De Clerck. With an Aulos (a unique wind instrument from antiquity), he enters into a dialogue during the Nocturne with one of our installations: the giant bass flute ‘Origin’.
Vincent Moon: The French filmmaker and sound artist delights us with a unique performance of ‘Petites Planètes’, a creation that balances between reportage and experimentation. With images collected from every continent, Moon explores the poetry at the heart of personal and collective rituals.
