Official opening of new sound artwork 'Doors of Listening’

For a month, the residents of the Red Cross Refugee Centre Overpelt worked together with sound artist and field record Félix Blume on a new sound artwork for the permanent collection of Klankenbos. Together they created a collection of doors that carry their stories, dreams, memories and voices. The doors for this installation were donated by some residents of Pelt. Throughout the month, a room in the refugee centre was transformed into a 'sound room', where the resident
s could experiment with sound, resonance and recordings with Félix Blume. For inspiration, they also met several times in Klankenbos.

To conclude the OORtreders festival, we are celebrating this special opening moment together with the participants, residents and everyone else who wants to. Appointment on Sunday 25 October at 16:00 in Klankenbos.
