The starting point of this performance by pupils and teachers of KANL is the theme of the installation FUNGI (Marco Barotti), which can be seen and heard in Het Klankenbos during the festival. The complex network of fungal threads, called mycelium, is among the oldest living networks. In nature, just about all plant species interact with fungi. It is a dynamic relationship, an interplay that involves listening and reacting to each other.
Accompanied by Koen Evens (music), Stijn Lauwers (sculpture) and Luc Morren (dance), teachers at the North Limburg Art Academy, fifteen students from the academy present their own, artistic mycelium. In a unique performance, they create a network of relationships, interacting with each other through music, play, dance and image. The choices made in the process, the decisions and mistakes, allow the whole to transcend the boundaries of each individual. Curious about what this artistic mycelium looks like?
