MUSICA becomes an institution within the department of "Volksontwikkeling" (Public Development). For the courses for children and youngsters a new non-profit association is founded, Mallemuze, recognized in 1992 as a Youth Service of the Flemish Community, with structural subsidy and permanent staff. Foundation of music press Alamire vzw. Edition of facsimiles, books, the periodical Musica Antiqua and the yearbook. Herman Baeten is awarded the Provincial Music Prize of the province of Limburg (15 December 1989).
Foundation of EuroMUSICA, an internatonal network of course organizers energized by partners from the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany and France.
Foundation of Alamire Foundation (non-profit association), research centre for music from the Low Countries, in cooperation with the Catholic University of Leuven.
Foundation of Muziekactief (non-profit association), henceforth taking care of the courses for adults, with Mallemuze concurrently organizing activities for youngsters and Alamire serving as publisher. MUSICA, Impulse Centre for Music, becomes an umbrella organization under which these three are subsumed, and remains in charge of concert organization.

Muziekactief takes care of the framework and the peripheral events for the first edition of Laus Polyphoniae in Antwerp. The first educatonal music editions are published by Alamire as the result of projects of Mallemuze and Muziekactief.

MUSICA is recognized and henceforth structurally subsidized by the Music Decree of the Flemish Community. One-time organization of a medieval festival in Sint-Truiden, commissioned by the province of Limburg.
MUSICA is recognized by the Decree for the Arts, subsuming under its wings both Muziekactief and Mallemuze, thus creating the enabling condition to work again on the basis of one single educational centre. Logically, Mallemuze and Muziekactief are disbanded as autonomous structures. However, Alamire as a publisher remains autonomous in its own right.
MUSICA moves to the provincial domain Dommelhof in Neerpelt. First edition of theMUSICAclasses for primary school pupils. Such classes are organized annually for a period of 12 to 15 weeks.

The European Interreg programme recognizesMUSICA together with partner Intro in Situ with the project Klankenbos (Sound Forest, 2004-2007). Development of Klankenbos (Sound Forest) in Neerpelt and a series of festivals and concert initiatives in Flanders and the Netherlands grows into an international contact initiative around sound art. Workshops for more than 5,000 pupils all over Flanders.
Permanent sound installations in the forest around Dommelhof, festival and conference about sound art. First edition of the Eersteklasconcerten (First Class Concerts) in Bozar in Brussels, with the Ictus Ensemble.
First Samhain project around Celtic traditions, fire and sound, in cooperation with provincial domain Dommelhof.
