Reflection on own practice

Musica aims to strengthen the sector’s voice around participatory arts, helping to document and map collected artistic practice both from a national and international perspective. Through the online platform Medium, we aim to share our artistic and pedagogical expertise.

Musica stands for a conscious and adventurous handling of sound and music. Reflection on one’s own practice has always played a crucial role in the functioning of Musica. In the coming policy period, we will open up this critical reflection to the wider field. With the active inclusion of a reflection function, we aspire to a landscape-strengthening role. Discussion about the relationships between artist, artwork, institution and participant is fundamental to any reflection on the arts. Moreover, both the arts and society need diverse perspectives. Our fundamental pillars are: artistic reflection on participatory arts, art in education and teaching, and inclusive curatorship.
