An adventurous musical journey

Every year, more than 1,200 children experience the time of their lives during MusiMatrix. In this musical trail, children and teachers will experience three mini-concerts, each preceded by an active workshop. Musica’s art educators let the participants experience music from the inside, this season with the help of the Makers supported by Concertgebouw.

The 2024 edition refers to the omnipresence of sound. Can we imagine a world without sound? What does sound do to you? When does sound become music? How do you dose it all? Does absolute silence exist?

Performers: Frederik Croene and Marlies Cornelis (piano) – Tom De Cock (micro-percussion) and Andrea Mancianti (live electronics) – Nabou Claerhout (trombone) and Lynna Cassiers (voice and live electronics)

”The musical input emanating from MusiMatrix is and remains of a very high standard. Each time it is a fascinating experience for the children as well as for the teachers and it encourages further reflection on music, sound and movement.”

Martine Goutry, Zandstraat primary school, Bruges

MusiMatrix is a concept of Musica Impulse Centre and is realised within the project ‘Sounds Now’ co-financed by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. Edition 2024 is a collaboration between Musica Impulse Centre, De Makers, Concertgebouw Brugge and deSingel.
