During the annual Summerschool, we will explore ancient scores together with a group of singers. We do so in the context of Laus Polyphoniae (Festival of Flanders Antwerp) with the festival theme ‘Antwerp Townscape / Soundscape’. For this year’s edition, we are making a selection of motets, mass parts and other compositions that sounded in Antwerp churches of the 16th century. Or that were printed on the presses of Plantyn or Phalesius. Present and past come together, and you help build it! As a singer, you will be coached by international experts, so that we can present the results of this intense and fun week of singing during a performance on 27 August in AMUZ.
Summerschool is organised by Musica Impulscentrum, AMUZ, Festival of Flanders – Antwerp, and Cappella Pratensis. Accompanying vocal experts include Stratton Bull, Andrew Hallock and Pieter De Moor.
