An intensive composition course for young people and adults with a passion for composition and creation. For five days, they will work intensively towards a presentation of their own composition.
This course is aimed at young professionals from Belgium and abroad. Selection is based on their motivation, submitted scores, sound recordings and their potential.
Established composers such as Jorrit Tamminga, Lucas Lebrun and Diederik Glorieux are in charge of coaching. During the internship, other renowned guest teachers will also provide additional sessions.
Specifically, this year will focus on composition for instrument & live electronics in collaboration with HERMESensemble, and composition for choir in collaboration with Vlaams Radiokoor. By collaborating with these ensembles, participants will have the opportunity to perform and discuss their compositional ideas.
Following this internship, composers writing for electronic/acoustic repertoire will also have the opportunity to participate in The Times Academy, a project of HERMESensemble, Musica Impulse Centre, MATRIX [New Music Centre] and Centre Henri Pousseur.
Thanks to a collaboration with vocal ensemble Huniyāgar and chamber choir for contemporary music De 2de Adem, several young composers will have the chance to experience rehearsals and performances of their own work written for an amateur choir.

SoundMine 2023 is initiated and organised by Musica Impulse Centre in partnership with Landcommanderij Alden Biesen, HERMESensemble, Vlaams Radiokoor and Centre Henri Pousseur.
