Het Klankenbos

Het Klankenbos for businesses

Working together as an art form

What does a successful company have in common with a successful piece of music? Both are harmonious constructions in which all the pieces of the puzzle fit together. A musical composition or ‘sound installation’ only works if it functions optimally within a given context and creates a unique experience for the listener. Likewise, the dialogue between humans and their environment is central to the works of art at Het Klankenbos.

Het Klankenbos is the largest collection of sound art in the open air in Europe. Musica offers active experience days for teams of colleagues based on sound and music: educational experiences that stimulate creativity and invite participants to listen actively to each other and their surroundings.

The day is in three parts:

Morning: Guided tour of Het Klankenbos

Het Klankenbos is an international collection of sound art in the open air: it is the only collection of its kind in Europe. Sixteen permanent sound installations deliberately stimulate you to consider how you approach sound and silence. From quivering birch trees to a musical instrument with solar panels: the artworks combine innovative technology with a clear concept. Sound pollution and creative listening are other topics that come up during the tour.

Duration: 1.5 hours

Noon: Lunch

At lunchtime we will eat at a good restaurant nearby. We will discuss the choice of restaurant with you.

Afternoon: Active workshop ‘Working together as an art form’

This workshop offers a musical perspective for the workplace. How does musicality shed light on the human factor in a professional environment? How can we connect that to your company’s purpose? Surprising angles lead to a fun, active exploration of four key ideas to do with musicality. The result is greater awareness of the human factor in the company, and the discovery – or rediscovery – of your own musicality as a bonus.

Facilitator: Hans van Regenmortel (artistic coordinator of Musica)
